矯正をすると英語が上手になる！！

日本人が英語学習をしていると、よく悩まされるのが「R」と「L」、「s」と「th」の発音ではないでしょうか。
日本語にはない複雑な発音方法なので、特に難しいですよね。

これが矯正によって上手になる、とはどういうことでしょう？

実は、発音には歯並びが大きく影響しています。
日本語は、口の前の方で発音するものが多く、あまり口唇周囲筋を使わずとも発音できます。
また、単語を理解するのに、発音があまり大きく影響しないため、歯並びによる影響が問題視されることは多くありません。

しかし、英語は口の奥から唇の先までの広い範囲の口唇周囲筋だけでなく、舌も使って発音します。
歯並びが悪いと、この舌の動きが制限されてしまい、上手に発音できないことがあります。

例えば「R」と「L」は、歯を基準にして舌を動かすので、多くの人に英語を聞き取ってもらうには、良い歯並びと正しい発音が重要になってきます。
「s」と「th」の発音でも同様です。
上下の歯がきれいに噛み合っていないと「th」を発音するとき、空気が抜け過ぎてしまい、正確に発音するのが難しくなります。

「英会話スクールに通って発音の練習をたくさんしているのに、全然上達しない」という人は、「歯並び」が原因かもしれません。

It’s particularly difficult because it is a complicated pronunciation method that is not found in Japanese.

What does this mean to be good by correction?

In fact, teeth alignment has a big influence on pronunciation.
Japanese is often pronounced in front of the mouth, so it can be pronounced without using the peroral muscles.
In addition, since the pronunciation does not affect much to understand the word, the influence of the alignment is not often regarded as a problem.
However, English is pronounced using the tongue as well as a wide range of perianal muscles from the back of the mouth to the end of the lips.
If the teeth are not well aligned, this tongue movement may be limited and you may not be able to pronounce well.

For example, “R” and “L” move the tongue relative to the teeth, so good teeth alignment and correct pronunciation are important for many people to hear English.
The same applies to the pronunciation of “s” and “th”.
If the upper and lower teeth do not mesh well, when you say “th”, the air will be too much and it will be difficult to say exactly.
The person who says “I do not improve at all even though I go to English conversation school and practice a lot of pronunciation” may be caused by “dentition”.

口の中にカビが生える？！

こんにちは。歯科衛生士の濱口です。
お祭りに向けて、子どもたちが踊りの練習をしています。
まだまだ上手ではありませんが、昨日初めて面をつけての仕上げをしました。
ひょっとこや笑い面、おかめなどのお面のおかげで可愛くなりました。

「口の中にカビが生える！」なんてありえると思いますか？
実は、決してめずらしいことではなく、むし歯や歯周病に次いで多い口内トラブルなのです。

口腔カンジタ症といって、カンジタ菌という真菌によって引き起こされます。

・舌が腫れている
・口の中がピリピリ痛い
・白い膜が付いている

口の中にこのような症状がでたら、口腔カンジタ症かもしれません。

カンジタ菌は誰の口の中にも存在する日和見菌で、健康で免疫力がある口内では増殖することはできません。
しかし、ストレスや体調不良・栄養不足などで免疫力が落ちると増殖し、口腔カンジタ症を発症します。

口腔カンジタ症は、放置しても命に関わる病気ではありませんが、症状が進行すると口内全体に広がり非常に不快です。
治療には抗真菌剤を使用するのが一般的です。

しかし、抗真菌剤に頼り切りにならずに、免疫力を回復させ口内細菌のバランスを正常に導くことも大切です。
生活のリズムを見直し、健康的な生活を目指しましょう。

Oral candidiasis is not a life-threatening disease if left untreated, but it spreads throughout the mouth as the symptoms progress and is very unpleasant.

However, it is also important to restore immunity and lead the balance of oral bacteria normally without relying on antifungal agents.

麻酔後の食事は危険がいっぱい！

音楽や踊り、内容もとてもよかったので、もう一度観に行きます♪

重度の虫歯治療など色々な場面で、麻酔を使うことがあります。
治療後まだ麻酔が効いているときに、食事は控えるよう注意を受けますがそれはなぜか知っていますか？

麻酔が効いている間は、口の中の感覚が鈍くなります。
そのため、もし誤って口の中を噛んでしまってもほとんど痛みを感じません。
また、熱いものを食べた場合、やけどをしても気づかないことがあります。
普段と同じ食事でも、多量の出血や腫れなど大きなけがに繋がりやすいため、食事はとらない方が好ましいのです。

しかし、時間の都合でどうしてもお腹が空いてしまうときもありますよね。
特に子どもに我慢させるのは難しいものです。

その場合は、なるべく柔らかく、適温のものを食べるようにしましょう。
冷めたおかゆやうどんがオススメです。
ゼリーやプリンは、歯科治療を頑張った子どもへのご褒美としても良いですね。

もちろん時間を調整して、食事を控えることが１番好ましいです。
また、麻酔の持続時間は治療の内容や、患者さんの状態によって異なりますので、遠慮せず聞いてくださいね。

Also, if you eat something hot, you may not notice burning.
Even with the same diet as usual, it is preferable not to take a meal, as it is likely to cause large injuries such as a large amount of bleeding and swelling.
However, there are times when you get hungry just because of time.
It is especially difficult to put up with children.
In that case, try to eat something as soft and warm as possible.
I recommend cold oyster rice and udon.
Jelly and pudding may be good rewards for children who have been trying their dental treatment well.

Of course, it is best to refrain from eating by adjusting the time.
Also, the duration of anesthesia may vary depending on the treatment and the patient’s condition, so please do not hesitate to ask.

初めてでも簡単！How to デンタルフロス

毎日しっかり歯をみがいているつもりでも、歯と歯の間には歯垢が残ってしまっているもの。
デンタルフロスは、歯ブラシの毛先が届きにくい歯と歯の間の歯垢を取り除くことができるとても効果的なアイテムです。

今回は、その簡単な使い方をご紹介します！

デンタルフロスには、大きく分けて2種類あります。

1. 【初めての方におすすめ】ホルダータイプ

ホルダーにフロスが取り付けてあり、手間がかからずにすぐ使えるので、デンタルフロスを初めて使う方におすすめです。
デンタルフロスを歯と歯の間に入れ、上下に動かして隣り合った歯の両面を磨きます。
磨けたら、ゆっくり横に動かしながら取り出します。

2. 【経済的】ロールタイプ

必要な長さのフロスを切り取り、指に巻きつけて使用します。
初めは少し扱いにくいのですが、慣れてしまえば簡単で、しかも経済的です。
１回の使用分（約40cm）くらいを取り出し、左右の中指に2〜3回巻きつけ、指と指の間を1～2cmの長さにします。
歯と歯の間に入れ、歯に巻き付けるようにして上下に動かし、歯石を落とします。
磨けたら、ゆっくり横に動かしながら取り出します。

はじめは難しく感じるかもしれませんが、慣れてしまえば簡単です。
是非挑戦してみてくださいね。

「歯」のホワイトニングは、昔に比べて一般的になってきました。
さらに現在の歯科医療では、「歯茎」のホワイトニングも行っているのをご存知ですか？
この技術は、ガムピーリングや歯肉ホワイトニングと呼ばれます。

歯茎が黒ずんでいて不健康に見えるという悩みや、歯のホワイトニングを行ったけれども、歯茎の黒さが気になるといった場合に効果的です。

そもそも歯茎が変色するのは、多くの場合、メラニン色素の沈着が原因と考えられます。
喫煙や過度の力を入れたブラッシング、口呼吸などの刺激により、通常は対外に排出されるはずのメラニン色素が沈着することで起きます。
ガムピーリングは、このような原因で色素沈着した歯茎にピーリングの効果があるホワイトニング剤を塗布し、変色を起こした部分を剥がし取ります。
そうして新しい歯肉を再生させることで、歯茎の変色を解消するという仕組みになっています。

歯茎のホワイトニングは、黒ずんでしまった不健康な歯茎をピンク色の綺麗で健康的な歯茎に戻すことのできる魅力的な技術です。

デンタルフロスをきちんと使えていますか？
中にはデンタルフロスの重要性をまだ知らない人もいるかもしれません。
実は、歯医者さんの多くがブラッシングとデンタルフロスの併用を勧めており、特に虫歯予防には大きな効果を発揮するのです。

どんな良い効果があるかと言うと…

１．ブラッシングだけよりも歯垢がよく落ちる

デンタルケアの基本は歯ブラシを使った歯磨きですが、デンタルフロスは歯と歯の間など、歯ブラシの毛先が届かないところにも届きます。
ある研究では、3分間の歯磨きの歯垢除去率がおよそ6割なのに対し、
デンタルフロスを併用すると8割程度にアップするといった試算もあります。

２．むし歯などの早期発見につながる

デンタルフロスは歯と歯の隙間を通して使います。
そのため、歯ブラシでは気づくことができなかった症状に気づくことができます。

３．口臭予防にも効果的

口臭の原因は、歯に残された食べカスと歯垢です。
特に、歯垢は雑菌が繁殖しやすく、口臭の元となるニオイを発することがあります。
デンタルフロスを使えば、歯ブラシでは取り除くのが難しい食べカスや歯垢もすっきり取り除くことができます。

４．補綴物の状態をチェックできる

歯の詰め物や被せ物は、経年劣化などで外れてしまったり、浮いてしまったり、グラグラと不安定になっていることがあります。
フロスが切れる、ひっかかるなどの異常があれば、被せ物が外れかけている可能性があるので、歯医者さんに診てもらうようにしましょう。

詰め物や被せ物に不具合があると、そこから虫歯が発生したり、歯周病の原因となることがあるため、意識的に確認することが大切です。

白いむし歯

こんにちは♪原田歯科クリニック受付の多田です。

今日は1日雨のようですね。明日も雨・・・のようなので、テニスに行ってから月の旅行の計画をしようかなと思っています。

学校で歯科健診の結果でむし歯治療のご予約をいただくことがこの時期増えています。

できればむし歯治療はしたくありませんね。むし歯は黒いとは限らないと知っていましたか？初期むし歯は黒い穴が開いているというイメージとは違います。自覚症状がないので、気が付かないうちに進行していることがあります。

初期むし歯は歯にツヤがなくなり白濁色になります。手触りもなめらかで、穴も開いていない、しみたり痛みなどの自覚症状がないのです。

初期むし歯はプロの目で見ないとなかなかわかりません。初期むし歯を発見できれば治すことができます。
