先日、ディズニーシーに行きました。
天気も良く、乗り物にたくさん乗れてとても楽しかったです！
歯周病の治療を頑張って、
腫れていた歯茎が引き締まると
「治った！」と安心する方も多いですが、
実はここからが大切です！
歯周病が進行していた方ほど、
治療後に歯の根っこが露出しやすくなり、
新たなリスクが生じることがあります。
歯周病治療後には
どのようなことが起こりえるでしょうか？
歯周病が重度まで進行すると、
歯を支える骨が溶けてしまい、
歯茎も腫れた状態になります。
歯周病治療によって歯茎の炎症が収まると、
腫れが引いて歯茎が引き締まりますが、
その結果、歯の根っこが露出することがあります。
歯の根っこはエナメル質（歯の硬い部分）で覆われておらず、
象牙質がむき出しになるため、
虫歯になりやすいのが特徴です。
また、知覚過敏の原因にもなり、
冷たい飲み物や歯磨き時に
「キーン」としみることが増える可能性があります。
歯周病治療後は、何に気をつけたらよいでしょうか？
１根っこの虫歯に注意が必要です
露出した歯の根元は、
普通の歯の部分よりも柔らかく、
虫歯になりやすいです。
特に50代以上の方は、
加齢による唾液の減少でお口の中が乾燥しやすく、
虫歯のリスクが高まります。
フッ素入りの歯磨き粉を使い、
定期的にフッ素塗布を受けると予防になります。
２知覚過敏の症状が出たらすぐ対策をしましょう！
歯茎が下がると知覚過敏が起こりやすくなります。
しみる症状がある場合は、
知覚過敏用の歯磨き粉を使ったり、
優しくブラッシングをしたり、
歯科医院でコーティング剤を塗るなどの対策が有効です。
３定期的にメンテナンスを受けましょう！
「治療が終わったから大丈夫」
と思いがちですが、
歯周病は再発しやすい病気です。
3ヶ月ごとの定期検診に通いましょう。
歯周病治療後は歯茎が引き締まり、
歯の根が露出することで
虫歯や知覚過敏のリスクが高まります。
歯茎が下がることを恐れて
歯周病治療や歯みがきを行わないと
歯を失うことにつながります。
歯周病治療後は、フッ素ケアや適切な歯磨きを心がけ、
定期的な歯科検診を欠かさないことが
健康な歯を保つ秘訣です！
