今年日系航空会社の国際線に乗ったときスマホを座席のUSBソケットで充電しようとしたが、３時間以上たっても全く充電できてない、というか全く反応しなかったです。
それで乗務員に質問したら、USBソケットだと電力不足で充電できないことがある、普通の２本足のソケットなら充電できるはずだと言われてやってみたらすぐに反応して充電できました。
海外の空港でもUSBソケットで全く反応しないことがしばしばあります。
それで先日医院改装の打合せをしていたら、USBソケットは最近では下火であり、少なくとも新築医院にはつけない方がよいとのことでした。
ネットで調べたら、USBコンセントで充電できない理由としてコンセントの故障はほぼ考えられないと書いてありましたが、そもそも差し込んでも全く反応しないので決してそんなことはないと思いました。
ただ、その後USB ソケットにも色々あって、USB 2.0 Type Aソケットって0.5Amp出力なので最近のスマホには出力低過ぎるのではないかという意見をいただきました。
ただ、ソケットに差し込んでも全く反応しないというのはどういうことなのか？
それにこのようにUSB 自体がどんどん進化するのであれば、それを壁に固定してしまうと新しいものに変更するのが困難です。
従って、建築物にUSBソケットを付けることはしないのが良い選択でしょう。

A dentist from Chiba communicated with a Japanese flight attendant when he went to Europe for a dental study group.
This year, when I flew on an international flight with a Japanese airline, I tried to charge my smartphone with the USB socket on the seat, but after more than three hours, it didn’t charge at all, or rather, it didn’t respond at all.
So I asked the flight attendant, and he said that sometimes the USB socket doesn’t charge because of insufficient power, but it should be possible to charge it with a normal two-pronged socket, so I tried it and it responded and charged immediately.

However, after that, I was told that there are various USB sockets, and that the USB 2.0 Type A socket has a 0.5Amp output, which is too low for modern smartphones.
But what does it mean that there is no reaction even when you plug it into the socket?
Also, if USB itself keeps evolving like this, it will be difficult to change to a new one if it is fixed to the wall.
Therefore, it is a good choice not to attach USB sockets to buildings.

于是我就问了空姐，他说USB插座有时因为电量不足而充不上电，但用普通的两脚插座应该可以充电，所以我试了一下，它立刻就反应过来并充电了。
即使在海外机场，用USB插座也经常完全没有反应。
所以前几天，我在开诊所改造会议时，有人告诉我，现在USB插座已经不那么流行了，至少在新建的诊所里最好不要安装。
我在网上查了一下，发现几乎不可能把插座故障看作是无法用 USB 插座充电的原因，但因为即使插入也完全没有反应，所以我认为肯定不是这样。
但是，后来我听说 USB 插座有多种，USB 2.0 Type A 插座的输出为 0.5Amp，对于现代智能手机来说太低了。
但是，即使插入插座也没有反应是什么意思呢？
而且，如果 USB 本身继续这样发展，如果固定在墙上，就很难换新的了。
因此，不将 USB 插座安装在建筑物上是一个不错的选择。
